Where is Da Burro?

Ok folks – update time.

1) The garden is bumbling along nicely. The slugs have done their worse and now seem to have gone to ground. Or moved on as they have eaten everything they could in mine. either way, I’m catching a lot less in the beer traps. Time to start hoeing to get their eggs up for the birds to munch.

2) I’ve been playing SL a lot and my other blog* is doing well.

3) Me and the mistress are embarking on a new round of decorating and DIY to prepare the house and garden. I can say no more.

That’s about it really. I’m planning the look of the garden, going to dig some more beds, may buy a greenhouse and am still looking at chickens… mmmm, eggs…**

Eggy McB!

* I have no link to it here – trying to keep some seperation as this blog is pretty open about me. If you want to read my exploits in SL, I’ll email you the link :)

** Not slug eggs though :P

Oooh – sly – your RSS didn’t tip me the wink.

But I am devious enough to check back anyway. Ha!

More posts. Now. And less of this Second Life malarky. We want tales of tomato woe, of sordid sluggery, of blighted berries and perfect pickles.

    Get the idea? ;)

And here’s me thinking you were enjoying my SL blog! Sigh :)

  3. September 3, 2007 at 3:13 pm

Actually, as it happens, I am. But that’s not the point! No! Not at all! Don’t you come round here with your other blogs. Oh no.

    Simply. Won’t. Do.
    ;)

    Oh, and chickens, eh?

    *subliminal message*

Buy them. Buy them. Eggs. Eggs. Buy them. Chickens.

    */subliminal message*

I don’t think I’ve got Derren Brown worried yet, somehow.

My question thus is – to prepare house and garden for……?

Good on you for sending the slugs back to their lairs. Take a look at my blog, see what the bastards did to my pumpkins. Bah humbug!

Chickens are great. I’ll get some as soon as I’ve another plot. Only God knows when that’ll be…

Oh, please email me your SL blog, even if it means I’ll be spending more time on the net reading and laughing my head off. Got all the time in the world, as no work for a few weeks, and heavy jobs are banned ;-) !

Hi *chickens* KW! Glag you’re still *chickens* enjoying it. As you can *chickens* see, I’ve been working *chickens* hard on my new, improved *chickens* island *chickens*.

    Can’t say Jac, can’t say :)

I’ve sent you the link – let me know if you get it. Don’t link from your site though – I’m still trying to keep some separation between my second life and my first (mainly because this blog is quite traceable back to me)*

    General McB!

p.s. Pumpkins. Slugs. Bastards! Look there they are, still inside as bold as you like! I hope you stomped them good for that! Get some little spikes and put their heads on as a warning to others!

    * Not that I do anything naughty in SL – I just don’t want the SL crowd (bar the few people in there I’ve led to here) to know about my RL.

‘Prepare the house’, eh? (*CHICKENS*)That sounds ominous, and how did I not notice it before, (*CHICKENS*) I wonder? (*CHICKENS*)

On a completely unrelated note, how are you feeling about poultry these days?

(*Is it working yet, I wonder?*)

Oooh. I see. You’ve gone all blue in a bid to outwit me. But nonetheless (*chickens*) I’m happy to hear that you feel the time is coming when you might invest in some CHICKENSCHICKENSCHICKENSLOOKINTOMYEYESYOUWANTCHICKENSONLYCHICKENSONLY CHICKENS.

    All clear now?

    Quiksilva! Hurry… I’m fading!

I… I… I feel like a chicken butty for lunch!

NOOOOOOO! What have you done to me, O Witchy One!

p.s. KW (and maybe HW) if you ever pop into SL, I’ll introduce you to a whole island of Pagans – they run all sorts of events, lessons, discusions, woad-making classes* and whatever else Pagans do. I don’t know, I’m a Heathen, not a Pagan! But they are very nice, have a huge island and there is always stuff going on there.

Woad-making?? Is that your impersonation of Jonathan Woss? And, on a different note, how about a couple of geese too? They make great guard dogs/birds. Hiss at everything that goes past…

    Hola el burro,

I am looking for a green fingered, gardnener or allotmenter (someone like you??) to submit regular blog posts for publication in the reporter (the new Preston and Leyland Reporter which is being relaunched next week).
It’s going to have three major themes: shopping, transport and the GREEN theme. And we’d like to hand as much of it over to the public as possible.
So, would you be interested and willing to give us a weekly update on gardening/ green issues you come across in your life in Preston etc. It could be one of your weekly blog posts or an edited version of one?
And it would get published as a column in the GREEN REPORTER pages, with a photo or two.
Let me know what you think! Email or call me and we can have a chat: 01772 838104.
    Thanks!
    Josie Hill

(I work for the Lancashire Evening Post as the Community reporter – I promote community interaction on the web (www.lep.co.uk) and in the paper, make and LEPtv edit videos and write community features.)

Bloody Hell! Josie, I’m at work right now and can’t email. When do you need to know for? Can we talk this weekend or are you not around?

Quiksilva: Damn but that sounds like a lovely place – 2 pubs, little stream through the middle, nude aerobics class on the green. Lovely.

Go for it, Burro. Chickens rule. Congrats on the invite to write for publication, too. If you don’t want it, put them on to me will you? ;-)
